Chirac Indicates Need for Urgent Settlement of Karabakh Issue
French President Jacques Chirac indicated the need for urgent settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh issue at a meeting with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev May 30. The French leader remarked, "there is no alternative to peace talks and reminded of importance of peace for Azerbaijan, Armenia and the region as a whole."
