Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for Ron Howard’s “In the Heart of the Sea”, starring Chris Hemsworth as the first mate of the besieged New England whaling ship Essex, according to Variety.
The trailer focuses on the 1819 attack on the Essex by a mammoth whale, which inspired Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick.” It also shows the wreckage of the vessel and the desperation of the remaining sailors.
“We will survive,” Hemsworth intones at the end of the trailer.
Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Ben Whishaw, Tom Holland, Brendan Gleeson and Jordi Molla also star. The movie is based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s book “In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex.”
“In the Heart of the Sea” opens on March 13 in the U.S.
