TNT has released a poster and new trailer for "The Last Ship" season 2. The key art shows a girl standing on a pile of wreckage waiting to be saved while a ship, presumably the USS Nathan James led by Eric Dane's Tom Chandler, is seen in not so far distance, AceShowbiz reports.

The 2-minute trailer which was screened during WonderCon Anaheim 2015 over the weekend, meanwhile, teases the appearance of a new enemy, the ship crew's two goals and some internal conflicts as they're desperate to save humankind.

Based on William Brinkley's popular novel, "The Last Ship" became a new hit after it debuted last summer on TNT. It ranked first as basic cable's new series with an average of 14.5 million viewers across multiple platforms.

The second season is set to launch Sunday, June 21 at 9/8c on TNT.
