AZERI OILFIELDS TO BE EXHAUSTED IN 67 YEARS
According to the calculations of "British Petroleum" company, at the current rate of oil extraction the Azeri oilfields will be exhausted in 67 years. As reported by "Washington ProFile" agency, taking into account the oilfields being worked, the BP specialists have calculated that the Kuwaiti oilfields will be depleted in 128 years, Saudi Arabian - in 85, Iranian - in 67, Russian - in 20, Turkmen - in 12, American - in 10 years. The palm of supremacy belongs to Iraq - its oil will last out 129 years. According to the BP data, Iraq possesses the second in size oil deposits in the world (112.5 billion barrels), yielding only to Saudi Arabia (261.8 billion barrels). Kuwaiti purveyance is estimated to be 98.6, Iranian - 89.7, Russian - 48.6 billion barrels. The present demand for oil of the countries of the world makes some 77 barrels a day. To secure themselves from oil crises the governments of the industrially developed countries, which are the main oil consumers, store reserves enough for supplies to the energy systems of the country for at least 90 days.
