The BBC is marking the 100th anniversary of Ireland's bloody and brutal Easter Rising with a first-of-its-kind Virtual Reality documentary, Digital Spy said.
Easter Rising: Voice Of A Rebel puts you directly in the middle of the 1916 skirmish between Irish republicans and British troops, drawing inspiration from a recently-uncovered journal from 19-year-old combatant Willie McNieve.
In 1916, the Easter Rising raged for five days in April and left 466 people killed.
The BBC's iWonder service is making Easter Rising: Voice Of A Rebel available to Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR users later this year – with more immersive 1916-themed specials to come.
A push towards Virtual Reality programming was first announced by the BBC last spring, with a rollout now under way.
In December, fans of The Voice UK were able to tour the show's sets and audition before the judges in a specially-created experience.
