EU to study reports on Armenia’s possession of nuclear weapons

The European Commission has made no comments on former Armenian Prime Minister, MP Hrant Bagratyan’s statement, suggesting that Yerevan allegedly possesses atomic bombs, Interfax reports.

“The information has to be verified; you're aware of our stance on non-proliferation and nuclear weapons,” EU High Representative Federica Mogherini’s official representative Maya Kosyanchich told a briefing in Brussels.

On April 29, Bagratyan stated that Armenia possesses atomic bombs. Earlier, however, he was calling on the country to develop such weapons.
