A year passed since air disaster of Armenian A-320
A year ago on May 3, 2006 an Armenian A-320 airbus which belonged to "Armavia" air company, crushed into the water near "Adler" airport. The plane was flying from Yerevan to Sochi. All 113 people on the plane, including 105 passengers and 8 crew members died.
On May 3 a service for the victims was offered in St. Hripsime church, Echmiadzin. "Armavia" air company organized Yerevan-Sochi charter flight for relatives of those who died during the air crush. On May 6 Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II will offer a service in St. Echmiadzin Cathedral in memory of the victims who died in the result of the air catastrophe.
The final report of the Intergovernmental Aviation Commission says that ineffective actions of crew members resulted in the fatal air crush. According to the conclusion of experts no failures in engines or board systems were registered, the plane reacted to robot pilot's instructions and crew's operations and there was enough fuel in the plane for successful completion of the flight. "The tragedy took place in the night when the airbus crushed into the water during a dirigible flight while trying to carry out a maneuver for gaining height after ending the first attempt to land in the Sochi airport in bad weather conditions that were worse of necessary minimum norms for line 06," the report of the Intergovernmental Aviation Commission says.
