UN PASSED RESOLUTION BANNING BORDER USE AS POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC PRESSURE TOOL
133 voted for, 2 against the resolution passed by the UN General Assembly, which bans border use as a political and economic pressure tool by states. As reported by "Arminfo" agency referring to US mass media, US and Israel were against the resolution. Armenia, as well as other countries of the region approved the document. The UN General Assembly called all countries not to employ such measures and legislation, which can be used against conventional principles of international law. Those addressing the meeting in the course of debate on the resolution emphasized the importance of the international trade and expressed confidence that passing the document would contribute to its development.
