CMCE: protraction of Karabakh settlement will lead to no good
Vuk Jeremic, Serbia's Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Committee of Ministers, replied to a letter of inquiry sent by Azeri MP Gannira Pashayeva as regards "regular violation of ceasefire by Armenia."
In his response, Mr Jeremic said the topic was discussed during the previous session where it was stated that any acts hampering the talks on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement are inadmissible.
Armenia and Azerbaijan should seek for establishment of lasting peace in the region, he said.
"This issue is vital for the entire South Caucasus region and protraction of the conflict settlement will lead to no good," he noted.
Mr Jeremic welcomed the recent joint trip of Armenian and Azeri intellectuals to Yerevan, Stepanakert and Baku.
"The most important task is to resolve the conflict. Any use of force may aggravate the situation," he said, Day.az reports.
The Azeri media is in a habit of constantly informing of "ceasefire violations by the Armenian side."
Meanwhile, Armenian National Assembly Vice Speaker Vahan Hovhannisian noted that these reports have nothing to do with the truth. "Baku's statements on ceasefire violations are nothing but an attempt to show that the Karabakh conflict is not 'frozen' but 'burning'.
