Armenia's gross domestic product grew by 5.5% in Q2 of 2017, official data revealed on Monday, September 4.
In the same period in 2016, the Armenian economy expanded by just 1.5%.
The country registered a GDP growth of only 0.2% in 2016, far lower that the government's forecast of 2.2%.
The government has predicted a 3.2% growth for 2017 but projections have changed as both the prime minister and the economy minister are hoping for a better result.
GDP growth stood at 6.5% in Q1 if 2017, up by 4.4% against the same period last year.
