Rubezh 2008 exercise first stage over in Yerevan
The final session of the first stage of Rubezh 2008 command and staff exercise finished in Yerevan on July 24, RA Defense Minister's spokesman, Col. Seyran Shahsuvaryan told PanARMENIAN.Net.
The meeting was attended by Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdassaryan, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, RA General Staff Chief, Colonel General Yuri Khachaturov, representatives of the CSTO and various state bodies.
Colonel General Khachaturov offered to sum up the results of the session on July 25 and presented ways to smooth the shortcomings.
For his part, Defense Minister Ohanyan said, "State bodies engaged in the exercise are collaborating to prevent any aggression. This exercise will help a better understanding of problems our fatherland is facing."
Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdassaryan thanked all participants and announced that the second stage of the exercise will take place in Moscow on July 30-31.
The report on the work carried out will be submitted to the President till August 10.
