NATO Sec. Gen. calls for immediate end of the armed clashes in South Ossetia
The Secretary General calls on all sides for an immediate end of the armed clashes and direct talks between the parties.

The NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, is seriously concerned about the events that are taking place in the Georgian region of South Ossetia and said that the Alliance is closely following the situation, NATO press office told PanARMENIAN.Net.

The Secretary General calls on all sides for an immediate end of the armed clashes and direct talks between the parties.

Georgian military occupied several districts in Tskhinvali and 11 villages. Some 600 Georgian soldiers are in the capital of the South Ossetia at present.

Georgian forces are shelling camps of Russian peacekeepers. There are wounded and killed.
