Azeris are a serious threat for the population of Irkitsk. According to Baku media, head of department of internal affairs of the Irkutsk region Andrew Khaldeyev has stated that. According to him, 1200-1400 Azeris reside in Irkutsk at present, 760 out of them are registered and 160 have residence permit. As Khaldeyev noted, Azeris in Irkutsk are mainly engaged in drug business, money counterfeiting and illegal production of strong drinks, at that, they have patronage of local law-enforcement bodies and business circles.
