RIA: UN Security Council will discuss Karabakh on Oct. 19

The UN Security Council will discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh on October 19, in response to a request from Russia, France and the United States, RIA Novosti reported Saturday, October 17 citing a source in the Security Council.

"Closed consultations on Karabakh are scheduled for Monday at 15:00," the source said.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
