Trump reports "really good progress" on Karabakh

President Donald Trump said Friday, October 23 that the U.S. will help the Armenians, noting that "really good progress" has been made in efforts aimed ending the war in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"We are working with Armenia, we have a very good relationship with Armenia. They are very good people, they are so dedicated, they are incredible people. We'll see what happens," Trump told a White House briefing on Friday.

"I think really good progress is being made with respect to that. We have a lot of people living in the country originally from Armenia, and they are great people. And we're gonna help them."

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
