Armenia Foreign Minister: Over 90,000 displaced in Karabakh

Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan has said that 90,000 people have been displaced since September 27, when Azerbaijan unleashed a large scale war against Nagorno-Karabakh.

“The settlements of Nagorno Karabakh are regularly being attacked, bombarded, bombed with missiles and drones. Nearly 90,000 people have been displaced, losing their homes and property," the Foreign Minister said on Friday during a video conference organized by the Atlantic Council.

"People are living under fire. This is happening every day, regularly, this is what’s happening in Nagorno Karabakh, this is what’s happening with the people of Nagorno Karabakh,” Mnatsakanyan said.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
