Recognition of Artsakh's right to self-determination is key, Armenia tells France

The war unleashed by Azerbaijan has strongly emphasized the necessity of the recognition of the right of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) people to self-determination, Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian said at a meeting with French Secretary of State Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne.

Meeting in Yerevan on Friday, November 27, the two discussed the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, as well as issues of displaced Armenians.

Aivazian thanked Lemoyne for France's solidarity with the Armenians of Karabakh and his visit to Armenia during such a difficult period.

The Armenian Foreign Minister also weighed in on Turkey's expansionist ambitions in the South Caucasus, describing them as a key factor undermining regional security and stability.
