Armenia, Russia to hold joint military drills in Russia

Armenia and Russia will hold joint military exercises in Russia, according to a press release from the Armenian Defense Ministry. Details of the drills were discussed during the meeting of Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan, Russian ambassador to Yerevan Sergey Kopyrkin and the embassy's military attaché, Colonel Andrey Grischuk.

Harutyunyan also stressed the importance of Russia's role and efforts in helping stabilize the situation in the region. The Defense Minister said he appreciates the mission of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), and stressed the importance of the immediate repatriation of the Armenian prisoners of war and other captives from Azerbaijan.

Bilateral military cooperation was high on the agenda too.
