Japanese firm to build "green energy" zone in Karabakh's Azeri-controlled areas

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has signed an agreement with the Japanese company TEPSCO to create a "green energy" zone in Nagorno-Karabakh territories that went under Azerbaijan's control during fall 2020.

The agreement sets out the concept and master plan for the creation of a "green energy" zone "to ensure the efficient use of the potential of such renewable energy sources as wind, solar, hydropower, geothermal and bioenergy."

The Japanese company has implemented "green" projects in Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brazil and Thailand.
