Armenia administering Covid booster shots, says Health Minister

Armenia is administering booster shots of the Covid-19 vaccine for fully vaccinated nationals that received the second dose six months earlier, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan told a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, November 25.

Avanesyan said the procedures will be clarified within the coming one or two days so that people can apply for and receive the booster shots.

The Health Minister also revealed that only 114 out of the 3124 people hospitalized with coronavirus have been vaccinated.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, meanwhile, that more than 400,000 people are now fully vaccinated in the country, which he said is "good news".

The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Armenia grew by 592 to reach 336,330 on November 25. So far, 311,078 people have recovered, 7419 have died from the coronavirus in the country, while 1412 others carrying the virus have died from other causes.
