EU "hopes" to address humanitarian issues at Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting

Head of the European Union's delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin hopes that humanitarian problems will be high on the agenda during a meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and European Council President Charles Michel on October 15.

Wiktorin said the European Union maintains communication with the sides and expressed hope that the EU will be able to assist the "development of the situation." According to her, humanitarian issues must be addressed urgently.

Pashinyan and Aliyev earlier met in Sochi on November 26, at a summit arranged and hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
