Armenia, France sign roadmap for economic cooperation

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and French Secretary of State Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne have signed a roadmap for bilateral economic cooperation between Armenia and France for 2021-2026.

Mirzoyan and Lemoyne presided over the first session of the bilateral working group on French-Armenian economic cooperation in Paris on Thursday, December 9.

The main objective of the roadmap is to create a strategy and framework for bilateral economic programs between Armenia and France for the next five years, which will include infrastructure, urban development, energy, agriculture, tourism, innovation, high technology, health and other fields.

During the talks, the sides stressed the importance of diversifying trade and economic relations between the two countries, the need to enrich cooperation with new economic programs and the activation of mutual investments. The two also noted the need to intensify contacts between the French and Armenian businesses, in particular through mutual visits of delegations and the organization of economic events. The current activity of the French Development Agency in Armenia was highlighted, the implementation of new programs was highlighted.
