Armenia will purchase 200,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine, according to a decision approved by the government on Thursday, December 23.
The country will spend AMD 1.2 billion (around $2.5 million) to acquire the shots. Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan said Pfizer jabs have also been pledged in donations.
Portugal will donate 40,000 doses of Pfizer-BionTech vaccines to Armenia under to a vaccine-sharing program launched by the European Commission on December 13.
