Armenia moves closer to banning gambling advertising

Lawmakers in Armenia are about to introduce significant changes to the country’s gambling advertising laws.

Members of parliament on Friday, January 21 approved in first reading a draft law banning all kinds of betting ads, with 56 in favor and 8 opposed, 16 abstentions.

Introduced by the government, the bill, if approved, all kinds of gambling advertisements will be banned on radio, television and internet. Such advertising will only be allowed only in hotels with 4-stars or higher, border checkpoints and in front of similar buildings.
