CSTO ex-chief: Armenia got free weapons from Russia

Former Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolay Bordyuzha has said there are "entire programs" to assist Armenia in equipping its army with modern weapons and military equipment within the CSTO, Sputnik Armenia reports.

Bordyuzha told an online press conference on Tuesday, January 25 that many of the weapons and military equipment in the arsenal of the Armenian army were donated by Russia or were purchased at subsidized prices.

Back in September 2021, the CSTO heads of state approved a plan to equip the collective rapid reaction forces with modern weapons and military equipment.

According to Bordyuzha, the essence of the plan is for the member states of the organization to simultaneously provide their Armed Forces with the same type of weapons and systems of the same level.
