Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan met with EU Ambassador to Armenia Andrea Wiktorin, his office reports.

The two discussed the human rights-related issues, including freedom of speech, freedom of the press and information, as well as problems that have arisen in the judicial and legal system.

"The Ambassador thanked the Ombudsman's office for the excellent cooperation and partnership, emphasizing the special importance of this institution," according to a statement from Tatoyan's office.

The EU envoy also pledged to protect human rights, democracy, the rule of law and support all efforts made in this direction in the country.
