RAU ready to accept Russian students "being oppressed in Europe"

The Russian-Armenian University (RAU) in Yerevan is ready to accept Russian students who are facing problems in European universities amid the war between Russia and Ukraine, RAU Rector Armen Darbinyan said on Tuesday, March 1.

“I officially declare the readiness of the Russian-Armenian University to transfer and accept Russian students who are being oppressed in Europe in connection with recent events. Tomorrow I will send specific proposals to [Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatyana] Moskalkova,” he said.

According to the rector, it is unacceptable to involve the education system in geopolitics: “It is doubly regrettable if this was allowed in Europe.”

Moskalkova said earlier that some European universities have begun to expel Russian students because of Moscow's aggression.
