Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Georgian Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili in Yerevan on Saturday, April 30 and said that a strong Armenian-Georgian partnership is an important factor for peace and stability in the South Caucasus, given the tense situation in the region.
“A high level of political dialogue has been established between Armenia and Georgia, our relations are dynamically developing in various formats and in a positive atmosphere, which is a good basis for further expanding cooperation,” Pashinyan said.
Darchiashvili noted that Georgia is interested in deepening multi-sectoral cooperation with Armenia, advancing the bilateral agenda, and that Tbilisi welcomes the initiatives and programs aimed at this. The Georgian foreign policy chief also added that his country thinks steps to stimulate regional cooperation are important.
The two then discussed issues on the agenda of the Armenian-Georgian partnership, regional situation, the importance of efforts to maintain stability and develop economic cooperation. International security issues were also on the table.
Darchiashvili earlier met with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan and visited the Armenian Genocide memorial.
