Senate hearings for new U.S. Ambassador-designate to Armenia due Nov 30

The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee will hold a confirmation hearing for Kristina A Kvien, President Joe Biden’s nominee to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, on Wednesday, November 30.

The American diplomat served as U.S. chargé d’affaires to Ukraine from January 2020 to May 2022, which she had previously served as between May to June 2019. From June 2019 to January 2020, she was deputy chief of mission at the Embassy of the United States in Kyiv.

She was nominated by President Biden to serve as the United States Ambassador to Armenia in June 2022. If approved, she will replace Lynne Tracy.
