Cavusoglu "hopes" Armenia will "come to its senses"

Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu has urged Armenua to "come to its senses and take advantage of the transport corridors" that he said would one day pass through the country.

"Hopefully, Armenia will come to its senses and take advantage of the transport corridors that will pass through the country," Cavusoglu said at an event on December 5, according to reports from Azerbaijan.

Cavusoglu claimed that Turkey and Azerbaijan have "extended a hand of peace" to Armenia.

Azerbaijan and Turkey have on multiple occasions raised the question about the Zangezur "corridor" through the southern Armenian province of Syunik that would connect Nakhijevan to the rest of Azerbaijan. The Armenian side, however, has repeatedly denied being involved in negotiations for the provision of a corridor to Azerbaijan, stressing that they have only agreed to unblock transport communications in the region.
