Armenia raises minimum salary by 10% to AMD 75,000

New legislation entered into force on January 1, 2023 which raised the minimum wage by 10% from AMD 68,000 to AMD 75,000, Armenpress reports.

Zhora Sargsyan, the Head of Department of Labor and Employment at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, said that the raise in the minimum wage will lead to an average of 30% increase of salary in private and public sectors.

“Particularly, the salary of employees will grow around 28,5% in the government system and around 31,5% in the private sector,” Sargsyan said.

The new legislation also increases the minimum hourly remuneration.
