Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has spoken about Russia's presence in Armenia, maintaining that it not only does not guarantee the security of the country, but, on the contrary, "creates security threats".
According to him, Azerbaijan is justifying its actions by accusing Armenia and Russia of preparing joint aggressions against Azerbaijan and claiming that they are allegedly carrying out preventive actions, which he described as "absurd".
"But this kind of talk stirs interest abroad, against the background of events in Ukraine," he added.
"In the conditions of Russia's non-reaction, he said, the military presence of the Russian Federation in Armenia not only does not guarantee the security of the Republic of Armenia, but, on the contrary, "creates threats to the security of the Republic of Armenia."
Armenia earlier said it won’t be hosting major CSTO military drills in 2023.
