Armenia, Iran hold key meeting in Tehran

Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan and Iranian Vice President Seyyed Masoud Mirkazemi on chaired a session of the committee monitoring the progress of earlier reached agreements on January 31.

During the meeting, the prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, as well as the possibilities of expanding existing cooperation in the field of energy and transport were discussed. The sides exchanged thoughts on the creation of favorable conditions for the development and expansion of trade and economic relations, including within the EAEU framework.

Prior to the session, Grigoryan and Mirkazemi held a working meeting.

Within the commission's work, separate discussions were held with the participation of the Deputy Ministers of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Economy, Environment of the Republic of Armenia, aimed at raising the existing problems in the mutually beneficial directions of Armenian-Iranian cooperation and implementing joint measures to solve them.

At the end of the session of the committee monitoring the progress of the agreements reached at the 17th session of the Armenian-Iranian Inter-Governmental Joint Commission, the Deputy Prime Minister, noting that Iran is a friendly country and an important partner for Armenia, thanked the Iranian side for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of conducting regular discussions in this format. Grigoryan invited Mirkazemi to Yerevan for the next session in that format.

The sides noted that the solutions of certain problems will always be in the center of attention of the governments of the two countries.
