Azerbaijan has confirmed five of its weightlifters will participate European Senior Championships set to be held in Yerevan, Armenia from 15 – 23 April 2023.

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Karen Giloyan revealed earlier that Azerbaijan had indeed expressed interest in participating in the championships in Yerevan.

This is the first time Armenia will host European Weightlifting Championship. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 14 at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, which will also host the competitions.
