The serviceman who went missing in the border areas of the southern province of Syunik has been found, the Defense Ministry said Wednesday, March 22 morning.
His life is out of danger.
The soldier identified as M.G. was earlier believed to have accidentally crossed into Azerbaijani-controlled territory after getting lost due to low visibility and fog.
Azerbaijan, however, denied capturing the serviceman.
Some media outlets then began spreading information claiming that two Russian soldiers had been injured. The Syunik governorate reported on Wednesday that two Russian servicemen had indeed gone to a hospital in the town of Goris, where they were treated for head injuries (non-firearm) and discharged.
