Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan to discuss unblocking of transport links

Vice-Premier of Russia Olexei Overchuk has commented on negotiations on the unblocking of roads in the South Caucasus.

"We are talking about technical details, but these are very important details", Overchuk said when asked what communication issues are still not resolved between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

On May 25, a trilateral meeting of the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan took place in Moscow. It was reported that in a week there would be trilateral talks at the level of deputy prime ministers, during which issues of unblocking transport communications in the region would be discussed.

"We are talking about the procedure for crossing the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, about how border and customs control, which is usually carried out at the border, will work," Overchuk said, according to Mayak (via Sputnik Armenia).

On May 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a bilateral meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stated that Azerbaijan would recognize Armenia's full sovereignty over transport routes that would pass through its territory without any options.
