The United States believes it is in the interests of both Armenia and Azerbaijan that the two countries reach a peace agreement.

“We continue to think that it is in the interests of the two parties, it is interest in the region – it is in the interests of the region, and it is in the interests of the broader world that those two parties reach a peace agreement, and we’ll continue to push it,” Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Matthew Miller told reporters on Thursday, October 26.

Miller’s remarks came after EU envoy for the Caucasus Toivo Klaar said that a summit of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and the European Council, which was supposed to take place in Brussels in late October, will not take place.
