Yerevan hopes agreements reached with Turkey will be implemented

Yerevan hopes for the implementation of agreements reached by the special envoys of Armenia and Turkey, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly on the draft state budget for 2024 on Monday, October 30.

He reminded that said agreement concerns the opening of the border for citizens of third countries and holders of diplomatic passports, Sputnik Armenia reports.

“Significant work has been done in terms of border infrastructure. We have re-equipped the Margara checkpoint, and we are already ready for such processes (border crossing - Ed.), and we hope that these agreements will be implemented,” the prime minister added.

Armenia and Turkey in December 2021 named special envoys to discuss the normalization of ties. Four rounds of talks followed on January 14, February 24, May 3 and July 1.
