Armenia proposes solutions for unresolved points in peace treaty

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in a press conference that there are no new updates regarding the peace treaty with Azerbaijan. He noted that 15 out of 17 articles have been agreed upon, while Armenia has proposed solutions for the remaining two, according to Armtimes.com.

"One of the issues concerns the non-deployment of third-country forces along the border. We propose that this principle be applied specifically to the demarcated sections of the border. Another key issue lies in the legal sphere—the withdrawal of disputes from international courts. Under certain conditions, this could be acceptable for us.

The core idea is that we should ensure not only the withdrawal of cases from international courts but also the complete renunciation of such disputes. Otherwise, a situation could arise where we withdraw one case, Azerbaijan does the same, and we seemingly agree not to take disputes to international courts. However, in the next stage, Azerbaijan could bring these disputes into bilateral relations, potentially leading to escalations. In that case, we would have blocked our own ability to manage the situation and use international platforms. Therefore, if we renounce these disputes altogether—along with other delicate humanitarian issues—this could be an acceptable solution for us," Pashinyan stated.
