Financial aid for Artsakh residents to be reduced

MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the "I Have Honor" faction stated on Facebook that social allocations for Artsakh residents will soon be reduced, sparking significant concerns among the people.

According to him, the current situation will compel many Artsakh residents to consider working abroad and leaving their homeland.

"It is clear that the government cannot indefinitely provide large-scale social assistance. However, the failed housing program for Artsakh residents and insufficient financial aid over time will create major problems.

The government must reassess the needs at this stage, revise its ‘drastic’ approach, and continue social support programs for a certain period.

Otherwise, by spring, the situation will force many to consider leaving for work abroad and abandoning their homeland," the post states.

The social assistance program for forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh will continue until March 2025, with certain exceptions. Since January, the 10,000-dram component of the aid has been removed, and only those receiving 50,000 drams remain on the payment list—about 97,000 beneficiaries. Starting in April, support will be directed to specific groups.
