Zangezur copper-molybdenum plant workers end strike

Workers at the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Plant, who had gone on strike, have decided to return to work, according to Vahe Mkhitaryan, a member of the strike coordination council.

On February 10, the plant's management made a concession by announcing an average 20% salary increase and guaranteeing the installation of modern ventilation systems, RFE/RL reported.

Armen Khachatryan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract faction in the National Assembly, also participated in the negotiations.

The strike began on January 31, with workers demanding higher wages and improved working conditions.
