Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone conversation with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys. The two officials discussed efforts to deepen Armenia’s partnership with the European Union, including ongoing dialogue with EU member states.
Mirzoyan stressed the importance of cooperation and implementing joint projects in several areas, such as democratic reforms, infrastructure development, and resilience strengthening.
The foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with Armenia’s growing cooperation with the Nordic-Baltic states and exchanged views on future initiatives.
On February 12, Armenia’s National Assembly approved a bill in the first reading to launch the EU accession process. The Armenian government endorsed the initiative on January 9, following a proposal from the Eurovote civic movement. The bill will soon be debated in parliament.
