Armenia, EU discuss closer cooperation and international agenda

On February 26, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone conversation with European Commission Vice President and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas. The discussion focused on strengthening political dialogue and enhancing cooperation between Armenia and the European Union.

Mirzoyan and Kallas reviewed ongoing and planned programs aimed at deepening Armenia-EU partnership. The Armenian minister emphasized the importance of fully utilizing existing cooperation tools to ensure continuous progress.

The officials also addressed several issues related to the international agenda.

On February 12, the Armenian Parliament approved in the first reading a bill to initiate the country’s accession process to the EU. The Armenian government had endorsed the initiative on January 9, following a proposal from the civil movement "EuroVote." The bill is set for further parliamentary discussions.
