Montenegro seeks closer ties with Armenia

A delegation led by Periša Kastratović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, was hosted at Armenia’s National Assembly. The guests were welcomed by Arsen Torosyan, head of the Armenia-Montenegro parliamentary friendship group, along with group members Gegham Manukyan and Mariam Poghosyan.

“We are friendly nations, and this visit shows our intent to strengthen the existing political dialogue between our countries and deepen parliamentary cooperation,” Kastratović said during the meeting.

Torosyan emphasized the importance of strengthening parliamentary ties with Montenegro, highlighting the role of friendship groups. He also stressed the need to fully utilize opportunities for cooperation across various sectors.

He briefed the delegation on recent regional developments, including ongoing peace talks with Azerbaijan and existing agreements. He also raised the issue of Armenian prisoners and other individuals held in Azerbaijan.

Kastratović discussed prospects for cooperation in several sectors, with a particular focus on economic development.
