Activist: pro-government MPs may join impeachment process

Narek Malyan, co-founder of the We Are Awake movement, stated during a Facebook livestream that with a properly organized process, even pro-government MPs might support Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's impeachment.

He noted that MP Hovik Aghazaryan expressed readiness to participate in the impeachment process, suggesting that a well-structured approach could attract other pro-government lawmakers.

Malyan emphasized that questioning whether Civil Contract faction MPs would join the process is now irrelevant, calling it an outdated argument to avoid the issue.

He recalled that on April 28, the movement sent individual letters to all National Assembly members, urging them to initiate a no-confidence motion against Pashinyan within ten days.

Despite monitoring MPs' public statements, Malyan observed that none have taken the initiative to meet with the movement, questioning their commitment to removing Pashinyan if they disagree with the proposed methods.

He invited all interested MPs to a meeting on May 2 at 8:30 PM to discuss any concerns or disagreements regarding the impeachment process.

Malyan reiterated that impeachment is viewed as the sole viable path to a change in power, expressing openness to alternative suggestions.

He concluded that public response has confirmed the importance of the process, making impeachment inevitable.

On April 28, the We Are Awake movement delivered individual letters to all National Assembly members, proposing to initiate a no-confidence process against Nikol Pashinyan within a reasonable timeframe (10 days).
