Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the “I Have Honor” faction, stated in a Facebook post that the Armenian government is laying the groundwork for a “no-rules combat” principle, not just in politics but throughout society, as part of building a dictatorship.
He said that “victims, the beaten, and those subjected to violence have only one path — to suffer and be imprisoned.”
Abrahamyan warned that under a constitution modified to meet Azerbaijan’s demands, authorities could criminalize opposition activity and define disagreement with the government or criticism as a serious crime.
He further argued that any action, word, or stance perceived as uncomfortable to the government could become a legitimate reason for a violent state response.
According to Abrahamyan, the government is granting itself unlimited authority, bypassing legal constraints, while leaving those under attack with no means of protection other than submission and punishment.
