Nare, Davit remain Armenia’s most popular baby names

For the tenth year in a row, the names Davit and Nare have topped the list of the most commonly given baby names in Armenia, according to data published by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

In 2024, a total of 16,022 girls and 17,571 boys were born in the country. During this period, 620 girls were named Nare, followed by 563 named Luse and 539 named Arpi. The name Arev ranks 50th among the most common names for girls, given to 69 newborns, reports Sputnik Armenia.

Among boys, Davit was the most popular name, chosen for 1,157 newborns. Narek was given to 832 boys, while Hayk was the choice for 625. The name Eduard closes the top 50 list, having been chosen for 66 boys.

According to the same report by the Statistical Committee, the most common surnames among newborns remain Sargsyan and Grigoryan.
