Activist seeks to raise impeachment issue with NA Deputy Speaker

Edgar Ghazaryan, a public and political figure, announced that he has scheduled a meeting with National Assembly Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan on May 12 to discuss matters related to expressing no confidence in Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Ghazaryan made the announcement on his Facebook page.

"As part of the National Assembly’s citizen reception program, I have registered for the May 12, 2025 session from 11:00 to 13:00 to meet with members of the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment. Later that same day, from 14:00 to 16:00, I will meet with Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan.

With them, I intend to discuss issues related to expressing no confidence in Nikol Pashinyan and his removal from the position of prime minister (impeachment). If media outlets are interested in covering these meetings, I would be grateful," the post reads.

On April 28, the "We Are Awake" movement delivered individual letters to all Members of Parliament, proposing the initiation of an impeachment process against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan within a reasonable timeframe (ten days).

Hayk Mamijanyan, head of the "I Have Honor" parliamentary faction, commented on the impeachment discussions, stating that if Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan is nominated as prime minister, they would support him.
