Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the mutual understanding between India and Pakistan regarding a ceasefire. The message was shared by MFA spokesperson Ani Badalyan on X.
“We welcome the understanding reached between India and Pakistan on a ceasefire. Dialogue is of key importance, and we hope that the truce will hold and peace will be established in the region. In this context, international efforts toward peace, particularly those earlier announced by the U.S., are also noteworthy,” the post reads.
With Washington’s mediation, India and Pakistan agreed to an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire.
On May 7, India launched missile strikes on several sites under Pakistani control, reportedly killing at least 26 people and injuring 46, according to Pakistani military officials. India stated the strikes targeted militant infrastructure used in last month’s deadly attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
