Earlier in 2024, Chukhajyan had lost to American boxer Jaron Ennis, according to Sport.ua .

In his comeback match, Chukhajyan faced Argentine fighter Cristian Javier Ayala. The bout took place in Rostock, Germany.

The fight lasted 10 rounds, with Chukhajyan winning by unanimous decision. The judges scored the bout 99–91 (twice) and 99–92 in his favor.
